Color Everything
The Color of Mother is a poetry book written by Chelsea Young, originally penned when she was 11 years old as a tribute to her mother.
I met Chelsea early in my transition into graphic design after leaving dental school, at a time when my formal design experience was limited but my passion for art was strong. Through a freelance platform, she entrusted me with bringing her book to life visually. Over nearly four years of collaboration, we worked closely to develop the book’s illustrations, layout, and overall visual identity. Beyond the book itself, I supported her author brand by designing her logo, book launch signage, social media graphics, and promotional stickers. This long-term collaboration was foundational to my growth as a designer and reinforced the value of trust, mentorship, and creative partnership.

The book was illustrated by hand using watercolor paint. I created each illustration with care, capturing the essence of Chelsea’s vision through this medium.
I designed and hand lettered these signages for Chelsea's book launch! Event photos below are from the Color Everything Facebook page.
